The Naked Gun (aka The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!) is a 1988 American comedy movie that spoofs crime thriller and secret agent films. It is based on the 1982 American television series Police Squad!. The film follows bumbling Los Angeles police detective Frank Drebin (Leslie Nielsen) as he tries to stop a plot to assassinate the Queen of England. The film costars Priscilla Presley, Ricardo Montalban, George Kennedy, and O.J. Simpson.
Frank manages to stop Ludwig (Montalban) from using a mind control device to make baseball player Reggie Jackson (playing himself) assassinate the Queen during a baseball game. Ludwig takes Jane (Presley) hostage and escapes to the upper deck of the baseball stadium, but Frank shoots him with a tranquilizer dart and Ludwig topples over the railing to his death. Ludwig's body is then run over by a bus, a steamroller, and a marching band, the latter of which triggers Jane's mind control device. She goes into a trance and pulls a gun on Frank, but he launches into a long, rambling speech about love that eventually snaps Jane out of her trance.
